Material tip: Suitable types of wood for Adirondack chairs

If you want to use wood other than Douglas fir, make sure you It is best to use the wood of a deciduous tree. Robinia, oak and sweet chestnut are particularly suitable. Do more with conifers, most likely use larch or pine.

The problem with conifers is that they are resins. Although the resin ensures that the wood is particularly resistant, it can also escape at very high temperatures. Therefore, the wood of coniferous trees is only partially recommended.

The Douglas fir chosen here is very poor in resin, moreover comparatively inexpensive and available almost everywhere. So if you prefer conifer wood, it should also be low in resin, so that at higher temperatures no adhesions on the Adirondack Chair arise.
