There is this recipe crunchy fruit for the carnival buffet, and this already in a centuries-old baking tradition. The apples make sure that the pastry stays nicely juicy and you get a fruity basis for the upcoming carnival party.

Ingredients for the carnival apple cookies

Apple pies are made quickly and are warm, especially tasty. In our example, the hot rings with creamy caramel sauce are served - of course you can go to your taste and, for example, to dodge chocolate or vanilla sauce. Alternatively, the crunchy apple rings can also be served cold and sprinkled with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar, for example as finger food at the carnival buffet.

For the caramel sauce:

  • 110 g of sugar
  • 350 ml of cream
  • 25 g of butter

Core the apples and cut into thin slices. Lemon juice helps against browning.

For the cookies:

  • 800 g apples (pay attention to origin Germany!)
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Since the chocolate has to dry well, you should prepare this apple dessert the day before.

Ingredients:

  • any number of apples
  • light or dark couverture
  • Sugar pearls or other decoration (brittle, marzipan figures, grated coconut)

In addition:

  • Wooden stick for attachment
  • Styrofoam plate or old carton for drying

Preparation:

Wash or peel the apples well, remove the stalk and finally stick the piece of fruit on the wooden stick. Now carefully heat the couverture in a water bath according to manufacturer's instructions until no lumps persist.
