The installation of paint ceilings: a quick guide

The installation of lacquered ceilings offers a great advantage: It does not cause dirt and noise, unlike the installation of plasterboards. Anyone who enters the race with detailed assembly instructions and a good deal of skill will master the installation faster than with a standard plasterboard suspension. We provide a short guide to the first information.

Order painted ceilings to measure, including tools

Of course, before you get started with the actual assembly, the first thing you need to do is to buy a paint cover that has to be made to measure so that it can be stretched in a swift passage. So give your exact ceiling dimensions to the manufacturer.

Then you order not only the stretch ceiling foil with a beautiful decor to your taste, but also the matching sub-profiles. The profiles can be screwed either to the ceiling or to the wall, aesthetically designed strips can even remain visible.

Also get the right mounting spatula, room corner brackets and a warm air blower, which serves to warm the stretch ceiling foil so that it has the necessary flexibility for even clamping. Now you can start!

Instructions for the installation of painted ceilings

  • Route cables and connections for possible lighting
  • Remove retaining profiles all around the ceiling
  • Suspend brackets for the stretch ceiling foil at the corners of the room
  • Fasten the stretch ceiling foil at the corners and leave loose
  • Turn on the warm air blower until the room and the film are about 40 degrees warm
  • Press the stretch ceiling foil with special spatula into the holding profiles
  • Carefully cut holes for lighting with the cutter
  • Mount reinforcing rings and install lamps

Now the paint tension ceiling is completely assembled! A big advantage of this type of ceiling is that it requires little care and can still last for decades. One thing they can not stand: scratching objects and mechanical violence.

So always treat your paint clamping blanket gently, clean it with a soft cloth and mild cleaner. To bring an older ceiling back to shine, the use of a special polish is recommended.

Tips & Tricks

In order to enjoy the long life of the new paint-tensioning blanket, you do not exert too much pressure when brushing and do not try to loosen the lighting or the surrounding reinforcing rings.
