This is how the ceiling is plastered

Just as in the case of walls, there is also a flush and top coat for ceilings. The plastering takes place - with the exception of some minor features due to the horizontal surface - in the same way and with the same materials as when plastering walls.

Clean the plastering procedure

Step 1: Check the substrate. The ceiling surface on which the flush is to be applied must be dry, clean, fat-free and stable - that is, it must not crumble. If there is already a flush, it must be checked for cracks and load capacity and repaired if necessary. Then you can go straight to step 6.

Step 2: Apply primer. This is best done with a roll or a large puff. Pay attention to a full and full order.

Step 3: Attach the cleaning strips. The screed strips are placed vertically with a suitable Ansetzmörtel at all projecting corners and along the surfaces in about half a meter distance perpendicular to the wall. After drying the Ansetzbinders the cleaning strips are firmly fixed. Cleaning strips have the same thickness as the plaster should have later.

Step 4: Apply the flush. This is done in a classic way with a trowel and a drawing board. Turn on the plaster and smooth it off. Care must be taken to ensure a uniform plaster thickness. It is not possible to continue working until the flush has completely dried.

Step 5: When the concealed plaster has dried, the so-called primer coat can be applied as an undercoat and top coat adhesive layer. It is as well as the primer applied previously filled with tassel or role.

Step 6: For the top coat you now have the choice between rolled or brushed plaster or a classic, thinner top coat, which is plastered in a conventional way. Roll and brush plaster can be easily applied as a structure plaster with a roller or brush, and then further structured using various methods (sponge, structural roller, flat brush, round brush, etc.). In the case of the conventional putting method, this of course works the same way - but you have to make sure that the plaster is structured as long as it is still sufficiently moist. This is usually within 15 - 20 minutes.
