Paint plaster with the right means and beautify

Paints and varnishes protect all kinds of surfaces, whether metals, woodchip wallpaper or plastering materials. But by no means every color suits every surface perfectly. Especially the colors for masonry, concrete, plaster and wallpaper should be selected exactly according to their respective application.

The right primer and paint for every application

Many substrates must first be primed before painting. There are different primers that are used on different substrates:

  • Tiefgrund is a colorless primer for almost all mineral surfaces that occur indoors.
  • Barrier base is used to prevent streaking and discoloration on painted surfaces. It is used, for example, in very fine-grained plaster.
  • Even the so-called plaster base prevents the penetration of pigments. The difference is that he himself has a very fine grain.

The paint for the plaster

Emulsion paints can be used very well, which can be used on almost all indoor surfaces such as woodchip wallpaper, embossed wallpaper, old dispersion paints, as well as plaster or concrete. The advantage of these colors is that they are easy to process and can be easily diluted with water. They are suitable for painting or painting walls in a variety of colors. Thanks to appropriate tinting paints, the coating can be done in all possible colors or with different color intensities. If the walls have been primed, there is also a very good adhesion to the substrate, preventing the penetration of stains (color stains, dirt or nicotine).

Colors for heavily used walls

In the case of heavily used wall surfaces, hard-wearing latex paints containing an increased proportion of synthetic resin can also be used. They are water-repellent, abrasion-resistant and abrasion-resistant and therefore very hard-wearing. Alternatively, you can also use special moisture-proof paints with a high water resistance, which also protect against mold or foxing.

How to paint the walls with new paint

The above-mentioned latex paints and emulsion paints can be applied in the easiest way with a roller or with a brush. If you wish, you can also add the desired hues to these colors in the form of tinting colors before applying them to the wall.
