The basic structure of a drill well is identical at each well depth, whereby the length of the filter section can vary. When the water-bearing layer to be tapped exceeds a height of two to three meters, a sump pipe is inserted into the well as a base.

The filter tube of two to three meters in length is placed on this marsh tube. In most cases, the filter tube can be placed directly on the bottom of the water-bearing layer. The well pump is placed under the water surface in the upper third of the filter tube.

To the filter tube, the individual tube elements are screwed. For metal pipes, the connection consists of sleeves sealed with hemp and fermit paste. Plastic well pipes already have threaded sleeves and counter threads.

The drill ring, the immediate vicinity of the well pipe of at least five centimeters thick, is filled with filter gravel. For deep wells, one to two sound barriers are introduced.
