The cost of cleaning a cistern

If a cistern is properly built or installed, regular cleaning is not necessary. The sediment layer formed on the cistern sole serves to filter the water and should not be removed as far as possible, since it requires several months to develop.

Nevertheless, if you want to completely clean a cistern, you can do it yourself using a dirty water pump and a high-pressure cleaner. The devices are for daily rates from fifty euros in hardware stores or rental companies for rent. The initial cost of a high-pressure cleaner should be calculated from a hundred euros, dirty water pumps are available from about 200 euros.

A professional cleaning company calculates 200 to 300 euros for a purely internal cleaning of the water tank of a cistern. If there are filters, piping and possibly a percolation system, the costs can add up to 500 Euro.
