Drainage fleece - what price do you have to expect?

When it comes to calculating the cost of drainage, it is often tedious to compare prices and collect all prices for individual materials. In order to make this a little easier, we present the prices for drainage nonwovens in this article once clear.

Basic prices

Fleece is not the same fleece. As a rule, nonwovens are selected on the basis of their technical properties precisely to the respective soil condition. Decisive for the selection are

  • different water permeability values of the fleece
  • the so-called kV values
  • the strength of the fleece

With a thickness of 125 g / m² you have to expect prices in the range between 0.70 EUR per m² to about 1.20 EUR per m². The products, often referred to as separating and filtering nonwovens, can also be more expensive and cost around EUR 2 per m².

The thickness of 125 g / m² (which corresponds to a thickness of 0.8 mm) is the commonly used starch.

Costs necessary?

The question of whether nonwovens should be used at all, is also always discussed by experts controversial. If you were to save yourself the drainage fleece, the costs could decrease overall.

However, this saving is not always useful - without protection by the fleece soil particles can get into the interior of the drainage pipe and there lead to massive sludge and for quite rapid clogging of the drainage holes. This then requires frequent flushing during drainage.

A filter hose is a good substitute for the drainage fleece, but also costs around 1.50 EUR per running meter.

Unlike using fleece, there is no risk of the tubing becoming clogged. In terms of cost, the hose is therefore more expensive than a fleece.
