How the sound transmission works

At the same time, these waves "swallow" themselves in this suspension because they constantly meet each other.

Sound insulation of a drywall: the details are important

In the case of the lightweight wall, the sound thus hits the drywall. This vibrates now. If the sound insulation is not followed, this drywall may be on the screed. The sound is thus absorbed by the lightweight wall, the waves continue on the screed and now put the planking on this side of the wall in vibration. The empty cavity of the wall in between serves as a reinforcing resonator.

The insulation actually absorbs the sound.

Beware of electrical and plumbing installations

However, in the drywall and electrical and sanitary installation is made. These components (pipes, cables, etc.) provide ways to continue the sound - forming sound bridges. Therefore, these are largely decoupled so that the sound can not pass through the insulation on the outer wall.
