Various glass block variants

Meanwhile, there are also easy to install systems made of plastic components, which can be used in a similar decorative way as the normal building blocks made of glass.

In the processing you can completely do without mortar - this Glass stones are made with plastic or aluminum profiles built up.

Anyone who would like to build walls made of glass block but previously shied away from the time-consuming walling with mortar, can now also rely on new plastic glass blocks, the simple put together in the tongue and groove principle can be.

This is a construction manual for processing glass blocks of such a plug-in system.

Illustrated assembly instructions for the glass block system from X-Block

Cut one piece of tongue and groove profile for the width and length of your construction project. Use this simple formula: Length of the frame profile = Number of glass blocks: X-BLOCKS x 200 mm + 2 mm.

Please note: The tongue and groove pieces must - as shown in the picture - be "capped" on both sides of the frame profiles by approx. 45°.

First, screw the two groove profiles with three 90° connectors. Then mount your angle construction to the wall.

With the help of an angle and a spirit level, you can easily determine the right angle for your setup. Now screw the frame profiles on the wall and on the floor.

In order to make room for the long sealing profiles in the corners, you should carefully release the vertical sealing profiles at both ends on the narrow side with a sharp craft or utility knife.

Tip: Best fitting accuracy is achieved - as shown in the photo - at about 3 millimeters.

Now mount the first X-Block glass block. Please make sure that the auxiliary marking of the module points to the right angle of the frame profile.

Afterwards, attach the two short sealing profiles - with the wide side facing outwards - onto the X-BLOCK, before you can then continue with the next component.

After you have completely assembled the first row of blocks, now stick two previously cut to length "Sealing profiles long" with the broad side outwards on the upper side of your first X-BLOCK series.

Then you can mount the second row of blocks. Again, proven a piece of spring profile for positioning of the blocks.

After you have completely assembled the top row of blocks, put on the last two "sealing profiles long".

Then slide the frame profile into the pre-screwed 90° connector and snap it into place on the top X-BLOCK row.

Now attach the vertical notched sealing profiles to the components and push the frame profile with the last 90° connector into the lower connector.

Then press the profile from bottom to top on the blocks.

Tip: Spread the tabs of the 90° connector with a screwdriver to make it easier to latch into the top frame profile.
