How is the interior design of a prefabricated house done?

The shell is, but until the move is still missing something crucial: The interior. In this article, we explain what it actually means in a prefabricated house and how you can really save costs in interior design, from electrical installations to wall coverings.

Turnkey or expansion house?

The difference between the turnkey variant and the expansion house is that your prefabricated house company takes care of all the interior finishing work for the turnkey house, whereas the conversion house requires you to do it yourself.

Now your craftsmanship is required: Because if you, for example, with the help of your friends, can take over this work, you save high hourly wages and may even finish faster than the prefabricated house provider.

But if you decide to go with the house, more work than just wallpapering on top tiles comes to you: the work ranges from the installation of all pipes to staircase construction to heating and sanitary works.

The planning

If you decide on a development house, the planning of the interior design is not taken over by the prefabricated house company. Therefore, you should consider using an interior designer who will advise you on how to get where you are, how to get the materials, how to install them, and, of course, where to go.

The process of interior work

The interior design of the prefabricated house is usually just like other house types. First, the insulation of the attic is done from the inside, as this would be difficult to access later. The subsequent erection of the stud walls, their plaster cladding and the necessary electrical work done in the attic.

When this is done, the windows of all floors are mounted. This is followed by the electrical and sanitary rough assembly, followed by the plaster work on the walls. If desired, the optional underfloor heating and then the solar panels can now be installed.

In order to ensure a solid floor later, the screed must now be laid and dried. The now possible final assembly of the sanitary follows the installation of the heat pump. After this "basic work" now tiler, house painter and electrician can finish their work.

Tips & Tricks

For example, if you can "just" paint or tile, make a compromise with your prefab company to do the more difficult jobs. Even by painting or wallpapering yourself, you can save a lot of money.
