That's why Osram has developed the decorative Dulux EL Classic in screw-type incandescent format as an alternative. Compact fluorescent lamps with socket require a luminaire with built-in ballast.

Disadvantages of energy-saving lamps

The energy saving lamps have many advantages. For the sake of completeness we also list here the negative properties of energy-saving lamps on:

  • Some energy saving lamps are sensitive to frequent switching on and off in too short intervals and are not dimmable. In order not to negatively affect the life of your energy saving lamp, you should at least two minutes between on and off let pass.
  • Old energy-saving lamps have the negative property of flickering. Newer energy-saving bulbs, on the other hand, have a frequency of 40,000 hertz and are thus no longer perceptible to the human eye.
