A mineral interior plaster helps against mold

Mold on the walls is unhealthy and damages the building. Too much humid air and poorly ventilated corners unfortunately all too often form the breeding ground for mold fungi. Insulations and joint-tight windows do the rest. A mineral plaster with a high ph value can prevent this.

When do you need a plaster against mold?

Depending on how much mold has formed in your rooms, the measures are aimed. If there are only small stains in the masonry, it is enough to ventilate more often and to treat the mold stains with a commercial mold remover.

In case of increased spread, the affected areas must be completely removed. This means that wallpaper, joints, paint and plaster must be removed until a solid surface is revealed. Obtain a mineral plaster. It is best suited to prevent mold in the future.

What are the advantages of mineral plaster?

  • regulates the humidity
  • removes pollutants from the air, such as formaldehyde or hydrocarbon compounds
  • binds odors
  • Prevents the colonization of mold and microorganisms

So go ahead

Wallpapers usually dissolve by themselves and only have to be deducted. If necessary, a soaking with wallpaper remover will help. Subsequently, the affected plaster must be removed. This works best with a cleaning cutter. Also clean the joints in the masonry.

The surface must not be scratched off and must be dry. If you wipe over it, do not smear or rub off anything. Coat the area with a special mineral base primer and let it dry for at least 1 day.

Apply the interior plaster against mold according to the manufacturer's instructions and apply the interior plaster in two layers depending on the thickness. If necessary, an anti-mold base can be painted on and embellished with an anti-mold color.
