The Combination of fungicidal and non-fungicidal agents is an innovation in the field of jointing compounds and provides active protection against mold in three phases.

  1. The first protection mechanism The researchers developed based on proprietary Henkel expertise on surfactants. The scientists used this important component of detergents to prevent the mold spores from getting to the joints. This is because surfactants reduce the surface tension of the water and thus make it possible to remove dirt from garments. Certain surfactants also change the surface of the silicone according to the same pattern, without affecting the other properties such as adhesion and elongation. As a result, the surface of the silicone becomes slippery and the mold spores can not even dock on the joint.
  2. The second component of the new all-round protection is a special anti-mildew ingredient, which is resistant to washing out. This anti-mold active ingredient permanently inhibits the growth of fungi in the silicone joint.
  3. The third building block against mold forms a molecular switch, which prevents mold sporulation. The active ingredient that activates this switch is a proprietary development of Henkel research.
