Clean the oven with salt - this is how it works

Stubborn incrustations can be fixed in the oven. Not everyone likes to come up with the chemical club. This is not necessary, because there are many home remedies that work quite well. In the step by step guide, we will show you how to easily clean the soiled oven with salt.

Home remedies for the oven

In addition to salt, there are several other home remedies that you can use to clean the oven more easily. Like the salt, baking soda works. This should not be used dry, but always stirred into a mushy paste.

Make the spray cleaner yourself

From a dishwasher tab you can make a spray cleaner. For this purpose, the tab is simply dissolved in a little water. You can then spray the inside of the oven with it. However, this method is not quite as natural as cleaning with salt.

Step by step clean the oven with salt

  • salt
  • Mineral water
  • cleaning rags
  • pastry brush
  • Mixing bowl

1. Salt the ground

Especially on the bottom of the oven, many fats and crumbs are stuck. These are interspersed flat with dry salt. Then you just have to turn on the oven and heat it to about 50 to 75 degrees for about 20 minutes. Then the dirt is simply wiped off with a soft damp cloth.

2. Clean the sides of the oven

The sides of your oven are of course difficult to sprinkle with salt. But you can mix a paste of salt and mineral water and apply with the baking brush to the dirt on the sides of the oven. Especially if it is just a few splashes sticking to the sides, this solution is ideal.

Again, the oven is heated to 50 to 75 degrees. After the exposure time, you can usually wipe off the dirt without problems.

Tips & Tricks

If your oven has an enamelled surface, you should not use salt or scouring pads. The surface scratched so much that you need to clean much more often. In the scratches, the dirt sets particularly well, also the interior can rust if the surface is scratched in such a way.
