What used to be "old from new" is today "Upcycling" and is in line with the trend. For example, old European pallets that are no longer used can be wonderfully transformed into an outdoor armchair that invites you to relax in the garden as soon as the sun sets. The base for the chair is created quickly. These instructions show which handles are involved in the construction of the pallet armchair.
This Garden armchairs made of pallets is a real lounge chair. There is a folding table for snacks and a bottle holder for relaxing enjoyment of summer barley cold dishes. Even a sunshade holder was included in this guide by GAH-Alberts.

Step 1: Material list for the garden chair
Needed:
- Standard euro pallet 120 x 80 centimeters
- Additional disposable pallets, the boards of which are used as armrests and supports
- Jigsaw, hole saw, hand grinder, cordless screwdriver, folding rule and pliers, angle, 4 swivel castors, wood screws with coarse thread (about 25 mm in length)
- Connectors, hinges and fittings from GAH-Alberts (see above).
Step 2: Measuring the pallet
The dimensions of the wooden parts used are determined by the dimensions of the Euro pallet or can be determined by simply stopping and marking during construction. When crafting with europallets exact dimensional accuracy is not necessary.
At the beginning mark exactly where the Euro pallet is divided into the back and the seat.
Step 3: Passing with the jigsaw
The Euro pallet is sawn through just behind the middle block with the jigsaw.
Step 4: The two basic parts of the lounge chair
The longer part of the pallet is used as a seat, the shorter one as a backrest. To match the two parts, two square hinges are used.
Check first at which point the connection hinges should sit and mark these points.
Step 5: Stabilize sides
To stabilize the closed sides of the two parts additional screws are screwed.
Step 6: Grinding
Then smooth the rough surfaces and edges with sandpaper.
Step 7: Position hinges
Set the position of the square hinges.
Step 8: Connecting backrest with seat
Screw on large hinges at the rear of the seat and then (preferably in pairs) connect the back of the front pallet rails of the backrest to the hinge.
Step 9: Trim the bar
Bring a strip to the width of the chair
Step 10: Screw the hinges
Attach two smaller, half-wide hinges to the back.
Step 11: Screw the strip
Stop the strip and screw it to the seat.
Step 12: Variant a) Strip on push
Thus, the bar can be brought in three positions to the highest backrest setting. At the top of the pile...
Step 13: Variant b) Flipped bar
... folded in the middle position, with the backrest resting on the bar, and completely folded away in lying position
Step 14: Attach rollers
At the four outer corners at the bottom of the seat is screwed with a board lying a castor.
Step 15: Attach armrests and footrests
The wood of another old pallet serves as a material for armrests as well as headrest and footrest. First remove the nails, hold the armrest to the armchair and measure the length.
Depending on how the hobbyist chooses his wood, the measure may vary. Therefore: stop and cut to size.
Step 16: Slats for armrests
Cut slats and also grind.
Step 17: Visible hinges
The armrest is then secured to the top of the armchair by means of a wooden connector of the selected height. As this connection is visible, the Ovado design fittings from GAH-Alberts are used.
Step 18: Assemble the armrests
For the vertical part of the armrest, attach a shorter wooden board to the armrest and to the seat at the inner angle. Mount the second armrest in the same way. The board should be sawed off at a 45° angle in order to be able to assume a flat seating position later
Step 19: Chamfer the board
Chamfer the vertical board to allow the armrest to move from the right angle position to a shallower angle when the backrest is moved back.
The basis for the Relax armchair is now created.
Step 20: Foot and neck support
From other pallet boards saw a foot rest and a neck support to size.
Step 21: Mount the footrest
The board for the footrest is made of two strips with flat connectors. It is mounted to the seat part with two hinges or box straps. The crate strap in the middle serves for stepless adjustment of the footrest / leg rest.
Step 22: Attach the neck support
Then screw together the neck support from two narrower boards with 135° connectors, then fasten with stainless steel hinges (or similar hinges) to the back of the pallet armchair.
Step 23: Tilt with box tape
The stepless inclination of the neck support is, as already at the foot, caused by a box strap.
Step 24: Lounge equipment for the garden armchair
To give the whole thing even more lounge flair, one armrest is equipped with a board as a folding table, the other provided with a bottle holder and finally also attached an umbrella holder.
Step 25: Secure the folding table
The fact that under the armrest a one-sided fastened with a screw flat connector is mounted, which can be easily secured with two hinges (about 64 x 64 mm) screwed folding table in the unfolded state.
Step 26: Bottle holder with hole saw
The hole saw is used for the bottle holder: Milling hole (approx. 65 mm) in the armrest,...
Step 27: Finish bottle holder
... screw large heavy duty angle connector with bead on the side of the armrest and the bottle holder is ready.
Step 28: Umbrella holder
Attach two smaller metal loops at the side of the seat of the pallet chair with long screws to hold the parasol securely.
Step 29: Attach metal loop
Attach a metal loop on the side of the backrest of the pallet chair as a handle that allows the backrest to move comfortably.
Step 30: the finished lounge chair made of pallets
