Whoever first came up with this idea certainly did not think to trigger such a boom. It is quite logical. Remains are processed, you can leave out creative and set up his own furniture taste. Most importantly, pallets are cheap to get. So-called disposable pallets are usually available free of charge because they, as the name implies, are meant to be thrown away. However, they have the disadvantage that they are made to any standard and therefore there are rarely several in a uniform size.

That's why europallets (real name: europool pallet) are very often used for furniture construction. These have the standard size of 120cm x 80cm x 14cm and are robust and resilient with 25kg dead weight. The prices are depending on the state and source of supply between free and 20 €. You can already build a chair or a small table from a pallet. Borders are set only by ideas and the own manual skill.

If you do not have the ideas, you can build furniture out of pallets in our collection of links. Get ideas or use the building instructions right away.

Table made of pallets with recessed glass panes

The question is easy to answer for Michael Lepple from Stuttgart. His palette furniture hardly arouse the idea of "cheap emergency solution". Here is a designer at work. After a long observation of the scene, it grabbed him and he turned his ideas into absolutely stylish pieces of furniture. He puts little value on the standard sizes, divides pallets, moves the feet and merges it back into a harmonious overall picture.

The highlight of his furniture is the surface. After sanding, the wood is lit with a Bunsen burner and creates a fantastic look. The grain stands out more clearly and gives a really rustic impression.

But Michael is not finished yet and wants to continue experimenting. In his latest creations, he combines pallet furniture and the shabby-chic style.
He remains true to his motto "Pallet furniture does not need a Euro measure". But a few drawers can do that.
In any case, I'm curious to see what ideas he is still implementing and will in any case continue to talk about his works.

If you still have questions about his work, feel free to contact Michael (see below).
