Basic preparation before attaching

Regardless of which wallpaper system you have chosen, you must of course first prepare the wall. The wall must be dry, even and as smooth as possible. Depending on the used photo wallpaper, it makes sense to paint the wall in advance with a deep background or pre-pasting.

Then you have to measure and draw marks. It is about the lanes in the Lot, so absolutely perpendicular to install. You can use a spirit level, but also a lot. The markings are to be set so that they can align the individual paths of the photo wallpaper effortlessly.

The installation of vinyl photo wallpaper

All three types of photo wallpaper have their very specific properties. Vinyl photo wallpapers are equipped with an adhesive layer. This can also be used to glaze doors and windows. The disadvantage often: once the vinyl photo wallpapers have been glued, they are difficult to correct. Here, however, there are again systems where you can spray discs similar to a car foil with water.

The attachment of paper photo wallpaper

The photo wallpaper made of paper is the classic photo wallpaper. It is mounted on the ground like a conventional paper or woodchip wallpaper. Accordingly, the same steps apply as in a paper wallpaper.

You lay out the paper photo wallpaper on the papering table and paste it on the back. Then you have to let the paste soak. After soaking, the wallpaper is then glued to the wall. You can also adjust the wallpaper on the wall, but be extremely careful that the paper wallpaper does not tear.

Attaching the fleece photo wallpaper

The fleece photo wallpaper is by far the easiest to mount photo wallpaper. As with conventional non-woven wallpapers, however, paste the wall and not the wallpaper. The biggest advantage of the non-woven wallpaper is that it does not expand. It can even better be positioned exactly like the paper wallpaper.

In contrast to the paper photo wallpaper, it does not tear when moving on the wall in the adhesive bed. So you can replace the non-woven wallpaper later as easy as the retailer promises, you should coat the wall in advance with conventional wallpaper paste. After it has dried, use the special non-woven wallpaper glue to attach it.

Tips & Tricks

Choose the manufacturer of the photo wallpaper carefully. Some vendors need to overlap the photo wallpapers, while others will cut the wallpapers to stick on top of each other. Still other manufacturers offer both options.

In particular, non-woven photo wallpaper offer even more advantages: sometimes you can order the wallpaper in one piece, without being cut into pieces. The material is extremely resistant and can be processed very well over a large area.

The wall surface may explicitly be slightly less good for non-woven wallpaper (small cracks, etc.), as these are well covered, but not their shape is assumed. With vinyl and paper photo wallpapers, on the other hand, the substrate really needs to be prepared very well, as even the smallest bumps are immediately visible as an unwanted 3D effect.
