Rigips dry screed made of plasterboard

Laying wet screed is a time-consuming task - especially because of the long drying time before further processing can take place. Dry screed, however, is immediately accessible after completion. The risk of static problems with liquid screed is also excluded with Rigips dry screed due to its lightness. The possibility of working with leveling fillets is the same for a dry screed - so that a flat surface and a good load-bearing capacity can be ensured, in addition, heat-insulating effects can also be achieved by appropriate fillings. In terms of price, there is hardly any difference between conventional liquid screed and dry screed, the overall costs are generally relatively the same.

Plasterboard or gypsum fiber

Dry screed panels are available in two fundamentally different designs - in plasterboard or gypsum fiber. The screed elements in gypsum fiber version are available in different thicknesses and laminations and can be laid relatively easily, depending on the soil conditions and unevenness, a corresponding leveling compound must be made. The leveling pad can also serve as an additional means of sound and heat insulation. While the dry screed panels, commercially known as Rigiplan, are intended primarily for laying on already existing floors, such as worn planks, the gypsum fibreboards, which have a shiplap embossing, can also be installed on the building floor.

Easy construction

Dry screed panels are simply glued overlapping together, this is a special adhesive used. The installation is - in contrast to liquid screed - relatively easy and time-saving to deal with. Only at the edges of the wall an insulating strip must be bonded with dry screed, so that the ground noise is not transmitted to the walls.

Beware of underfloor heating

In the case of underfloor heating systems, it should always be ensured in advance that the respective heating system is suitable for dry cleaning - this generally does not apply to all underfloor heating systems. At most, it is necessary to dispense with appropriate insulating layers below the plates - it is in the case of underfloor heating so on the selection of appropriate dry floor slabs.
