Price factors for a dormer

In the price of a dormer many factors come into play - and actually only the price of a prefabricated dormer can at least approximately determine. Read on here.

Dormers and prices

Roof dormers are subject to approval - planning by the architect is therefore unavoidable. Here, in addition to the individual wishes, the local conditions come into play: type and structure of the roof and the roof truss, support options and roof pitch.

The prices for individually planned dormers are therefore as different as the prices for a new car. This can be a Polo or a Mercedes. Even with very small prefabricated dormers, you probably will not incur less than 10,000 euros, which you should be aware of.

Price factors for a dormer: dormer

In the case of self-planned dormers, there will be additional costs for the architect, possibly a structural engineer and for the building permit. Also in the work to be done then fall often additional costs.

Price example of a selected supplier (as of: 2013)

Costs for self-planning

In addition to the planning costs and the costs for the architect, you must include the following costs for your dormer: demolition of the old roof, support, structure of the dormer, covering of the dormer, roofing of the dormer, window installation in the dormer, insulation and interior design of the dormer. Here you have a very extensive construction project in the house.

You can generally save costs by cheaper cladding, less elaborate interior design and smaller or cheaper window shapes. Just set the architect a budget - then he can plan exactly in your budget.
