Stick the puzzle yourself! How are you?

Stick the puzzle and hang it up: stick

Anyone who has ever puzzled, may know the agonizing question when the puzzle is made. What now? Stick the puzzle and hang it? But how? The right answer to the question is not always easy.

Many roads lead to Rome. Because the offer of helpful tips on puzzle sticking or fixing is numerous. We've gone to the trouble of picking out and presenting the best and most effective ways to glue a puzzle.

The right side

For which adhesive method one ultimately decides, is highly dependent on the choice of which side of the puzzle to be glued. Either the motif page or the back. If the decision goes in favor of the motif page, it is advisable to buy a puzzle-conserver, e.g. from Ravensburger. A 200ml bottle is enough on average for 4x1000 pieces puzzle of different manufacturers. Find a suitable base on which you can leave a bit of dirt behind and proceed as follows:

Shake the Conserver well before use. After that, apply some of the glue to the surface of the puzzle and evenly spread the amount with the sponge on top of the conserver. Pay special attention to the small joints between the puzzle pieces. These must be sufficiently covered with glue. Under certain circumstances, the gluing process must therefore be repeated. Please wash out the sponge later, otherwise reuse of the glue will not be possible later.

Stick puzzle with latex binder

An alternative to the commercial Conserver different puzzle manufacturers is latex binder from the hardware store. Latex is ideal for gluing, fixing and sealing. Especially for puzzles with more than 2000 parts, this method is recommended. The application of the latex binder is designed as the Conserver. There is no sponge here, a foam roller for applying paints and paints from the hardware store would be useful.
Do not be scared, if you apply the latex binder, it is only white. But the binder then absorbs and becomes transparent. 1 liter is enough for about 10 square meters.

If you prefer to glue the good puzzle with the back on a base, this is recommended for some other great glue alternatives. However, before you can start gluing, it is first necessary to turn the puzzle safely without destroying the previous hours of jigsaw puzzle pleasure. For this, please bring the puzzle safely to a sufficiently large and stable surface. A second pad should be used to cover the puzzle. The underlay puzzle base construction should now be fixed so that the puzzle can be turned unscathed. The puzzle is now on the back and can be glued.

Stick puzzle with double-sided tape - suitable for up to 2000 pieces of puzzle

Up to a certain puzzle size, double-sided tape is a great way to fix your puzzle enough to later frame it and hang it up. Especially with puzzles with corresponding surface effects, the back method with adhesive tape makes sense. The adhesive strips should be glued side by side in lanes, both horizontally and vertically. Jigsaw puzzle and glue together are still thin enough to fit in every frame.

Glue puzzle with clear coat or wood glue

Another good way to capture the beautiful puzzle for all time is wood glue. Important here is the choice of a solid base on which the puzzle is fixed with the glue. Lightly moisten the surface of the base (moisten slightly with water) and only then apply the wood glue. So the glue is slightly diluted and yet is not watery. This prevents swelling of the puzzle box. Do not apply the glue too thickly and allow it to dry slightly. Then press the base with the adhesive side on the back of the puzzle and complain with a heavy object. Leave it to dry and dry for 24 hours. Finished!

Glue puzzle with wallpaper paste

Another often discussed method of gluing a puzzle is the variant with wallpaper paste. If possible, we advise against this possibility. Experience shows that too much moisture in the paste can damage the puzzle by causing the puzzle box to swell nauseatedly.

Tip - Underground for big puzzles

The best way to think about a suitable background for your own puzzle is to start with the puzzle. Especially with large puzzles stable documents are a necessity, if the puzzle should later be suspended and admired. Almost every hardware store today offers a special service for cutting boards to measure. The thickness or thickness of the plate should not be thinner than 6mm, everything else is too unstable for large dimensions.
