Rectangular plaster ideally laid

The rectangular paving includes all patterns of paving stones that have square and rectangular shapes. The joints may be vertical or diagonal to a lateral boundary. A rectangular patch is made of several different types of bandages and the optics range from restrained Flächeneleganz to mosaic-like effects, for example, by the use of different colored paving stones. Laying itself is relatively easy, especially for concrete paving stones, whose prefabricated dimensions are precise and often help spacers on every paving stone in straight laying.

Row and diagonal bandage most common

Rectangular paving stones are offset halfway along parallel or at an angle of 45 degrees to the lateral boundary to create a rectangular paving. In these dressings, the individual paving stones are the same size, which always includes a tolerance of two centimeters when using natural stone. At the end edges of the row formation, a whole so-called Binder stone and a half paving stone set. For diagonally set rectangular or square paving stones, the straight-sided end edge of the road, the path or the square is achieved by means of pentagonal paving stones or so-called pebbles. In rectangular paving stones made of natural stone also helping filling materials such as small quarry, pebbles or boulders are used.

Ornamental pattern with different stone sizes and mirror arrangements

The rectangular paving can also be laid or set with paving stones of different sizes. A classic structure is the Roman bandage, in which a deliberate asymmetry forms the pattern. The rectangular and square paving stones have no cross joints, because they are offset over the entire surface of the rectangular plaster to each other and neighboring stones are always different sizes. This breaks all joints after short distances. If the rectangle plaster is placed on large areas in the Roman Union, there is often a recurring basic element, which follows these rules also at the meeting sides to the neighboring element. A symmetrical structure of a rectangular plaster is the decorative bandage, in which rectangular paving stones are rotated together at right angles.

The cheapest type under the concrete paving

The simple industrial production of rectangular and square concrete paving stones makes the rectangular paving cheap. The simplest versions, which are not designed for heavy loads such as vehicle driving, start at single-digit square meter prices. Colored paving stones, particularly viable variants and natural stone cost from concrete up to 25 euros, from natural stone to sixty euros.
