Sand-lime bricks: cost-effective and sustainable

Sand-lime brick slabs are a good option in interior design - both in new buildings, as well as in the subsequent design of interiors. Here you will learn everything worth knowing about this building material.

Background information

Sand-lime brick slabs are mainly used as building material for non-load-bearing interior walls - they are easy and quick to process, inexpensive and due to their high load capacity interior wall designs can be relatively thin, usually with only 7 to 10 cm wall thickness.

However, sand-lime brick slabs offer excellent sound insulation, above all for their thickness, and have a high thermal conductivity, which is a very great advantage in the interior. They thus ensure a very positive living environment.

What to look for when buying? / Recommendations

Especially when planning, pay attention to the stone weight: sand lime bricks and blocks are relatively heavy compared to other building materials due to their high bulk density - this can be a problem when working, especially if you have no help. You can usually process up to 25 kg of stone weight without help.

Laying sleds can be helpful

So-called laying carriages make processing even with higher stone weights easier and more energy-efficient.
