So a bathtub is replaced

To exchange a bathtub, a few prior art skills are beneficial. The removal and installation is associated with some effort and needs a precise approach, so that after installation no water damage.

First of all, suitable materials and materials should be provided. These include hammer and chisel, spirit level, craft knife, water pump pliers and various wrenches. Depending on the project, new tiles with matching adhesive, cement, mortar and Ytong bricks are needed. If a cup of the same shape is used anew, only additional silicone is required as additional material.

If the tub is enclosed by a wall, it must first be carefully removed with a hammer and chisel. Next, the water must be turned off in the appropriate area. Only then can fittings, pipes and siphons be removed without causing water damage. The removal of the old fittings is not absolutely necessary, but usually these are simply in the way due to the attachment. Under the tub running pipes and siphon and should always be removed and replaced with new parts.

To remove the old tub, the rotating silicone has to be cut in thoroughly with the cutter. The tub can then be raised and lowered. The old silicone residue must be removed without residues. This is done with the cutter, whereby the edge should be cleaned with turpentine before applying the new silicone.

If the drain has to be moved, this step requires special care. Ideally, the old drain can be connected via a pipe to the new drain. For this purpose, a multiple check of the tightness must take place, in order to avoid a heavy water damage.

The new bathtub must be aligned correctly. With a matching, new tub, the base of the old tub, if it still has sufficient stability, continue to be used. With the help of the spirit level, the new bathtub must be aligned absolutely horizontally. After carefully inserting the new tub, the drains and fittings are connected and the tub rim is filled with silicone.
