So you can remove wood tar and Glanzruß

Wood tar and shine soot are tarry, shiny and resinous deposits that settle inside a cooled heating system or in the chimney. The mass consists of wood gases, condensate of water and various suspended solids.

Wood tar and shine soot and how the fabrics are made

Carbon blacks can result in many types of combustion, such as incomplete burning of solid fuels such as wood or coal. The dangerous substances are created especially when fresh wood is burned with too high a content of residual moisture. Often the mistake is made to store firewood only for too short a time. During combustion, the risk of soot formation increases many times over. But wood tar and Glanzruß can also be caused by defects in the flue or other components of the heating system. Such defects should definitely be remedied, not least because the function of a heating system can already be severely impaired by the contamination. In addition, it can come to the dreaded chimney fire, which can quickly arise even temperatures of up to 1000 degrees Celsius.

The removal of the dangerous mass in several steps

The removal of hardened wood tar and gloss soot from solids heated plants takes place in several steps. It is best to have the cleaning carried out by a specialist company in order to avoid any danger.

  • First, the boiler system to be cleaned must cool to a temperature of between about 50 and 70 degrees Celsius.
  • Now a special cleaner in concentrated form is applied to the tarry deposits until they soften. For this purpose, the material (special cleaning agents) must act for several minutes.
  • During a heating up, a mixture of special detergent and water is now applied again to the polluted areas.
  • When heated, the pads dry out and can then be easily removed mechanically or burned almost completely. Any leftovers will later be disposed of together with the ashes.

Have the heating system cleaned by a specialist company

Timber tar and gloss soot can generate very high temperatures during combustion, which is why their combustion poses a high risk. The cleaning agents are also not entirely safe, as they can cause severe burns. It is best done by a specialist garage to be on the safe side.
