  • Denture cleaner or braces cleaner
  • Ammonia + glycerin
  • Gallseife
  • Sodium + citric acid
  • shaving cream

Instructions for removing tea stains on textiles

It does not matter whether it is stains caused by herbal tea, black tea or fruit tea. The method works on all tea stains.

  • Mineral water
  • Braces or teeth cleaner or one of the other home remedies mentioned above
  • Washing machine

1. soaking

Take a sip of mineral water on the stain and let it act for a short time. Older spots can be soaked in a mineral water bath for a few hours.

2. incorporate stain remover

Place the cleaning rod (without dissolving it) directly on the wet spot. Alternatively - especially recommended for larger stains - you can dissolve the tab in a little water and then paint the solution on the spot.

Let the medium take effect for 15 minutes.

3. Rinse and repeat treatment

Rinse the stained area with warm water and examine the result. Is the tea stain gone? If not, you should repeat the treatment or try one of the other home remedies listed above.

Do not put the laundry in the washing machine until the stain has disappeared. Washed tea stains are very difficult to remove and usually only by chemical means.

4. Washing

If the stain disappears, or at least as good as gone, put your garment in the washing machine and wash it as hot as possible.

Remove tea stains from the carpet, sofa or other upholstery

In principle, you can proceed in the same way as described above:

  • First soften the tea stains with a little mineral water - the more carbonic acid, the better!
  • Then place a denture cleansing stick directly on it or dissolve the tab and spread the water over it. Let it work for 15 minutes.
  • Using a cloth, remove the large remains of the tab from the carpet and then brush with a household brush over the stain.
  • Add some more water and then suck the liquid together with the tea stain from the pad or the carpet.
  • Put clear water on the stain several times and vacuum to remove any residue of the detergent.
  • Afterwards it is recommended to clean the carpet or the sofa over a large area with carpet cleaner and wet vacuum cleaner to prevent the formation of edges.
  • For sensitive surfaces, it is better to use shaving cream instead of denture cleanser.
