Use thermal insulation for outdoor areas sensibly

An external plaster has the task to protect the walls from the weather and ideally provide for sufficient thermal insulation. For this he must have a sufficient layer thickness. Thermal protection is one such material that offers you many benefits. In many cases it can easily be used for outdoor walls as well, if you pay attention to a few things and have the work done by professionals.

Protect outer walls and insulate sufficiently

Exterior walls must be well protected from the weather. There must be no moisture in the wall, so the exterior plaster must be weatherproof. Outdoor plasters are usually double-layered, consisting of a flush and a top coat. Depending on the procurement of the substrate, it may be necessary to apply a kind of primer. Exterior walls can also be thermally protected from weather conditions and moisture penetration, as this material is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Depending on the manufacturer, it can be used for a wide variety of substrates, can be processed by machine and increases the wall surface temperature.

What should be considered when processing thermal protection

Thermoputz is a versatile product that can be used on a variety of substrates. Depending on the product, application thicknesses between 20 and 80 millimeters (multi-layered) are possible. Applied as external insulation, thermal protection provides protection from heat in the hot summer months and ensures a relatively constant surface temperature. When processing, however, you should note a few things:

  • As with other types of plaster, you should prepare the exterior walls thoroughly. Loose components must be thoroughly removed, as well as other contaminants that affect the adhesion of the material.
  • The processing should be done by machine in order to achieve a rapid construction progress and to be able to apply the material within the processing time.
  • The work can only be done at sufficiently high temperatures of at least five degrees Celsius, as is the case with other materials.
  • In the outdoor area, the work should be done best by professionals to get a good result and good thermal insulation.
  • In order for the insulation to function properly, it is best to insulate the entire house sufficiently to provide a pleasant indoor climate and sufficient insulation inside as well.
