The tree used for our tree house must be healthy, stable and equipped with at least 10 cm thick branches to be able to reliably carry the construction.

M10x200 hexagon bolts

As I said: It all depends on the tree and a good substructure. Therefore, we have set for the tree house floor on security and used 10x10 cm Kanthälzer.

First cut two 1.20 m pieces from the 4.40 m square timber; at 2.20 m Kanthözern should so exactly two 1 meter pieces remain.

Now lay the two shorter squared timbers flat on the ground, place the two longer ones on both ends and screw two 20 mm hexagon bolts with washers through the frame at each contact point: this will last!

For mounting the frame in the tree choose a suitable, stable place with thick branches and trunks. It is particularly important that the support surface is in balance (spirit level!): At least one point on each side of a screw should be screwed into the tree wood: The more screws between tree and frame, the more stable and better!

Mount floor and corner posts

Wood screws 5.0x70

Now the floor of the tree house is assembled: Take the five 2.5 mm thick boards and screw them to the short sides of the frame with four 5.0 x 7mm screws at the top and bottom. So you get a very stable floor of the tree house.

Finally, screw in two additional screws at the four corners for reinforcement: Here the roof structure is put on.

Mount corner posts

After the floor is finished, the load-bearing corner posts are now assembled: first cut four 1.60 m long posts from the 6 x 6 cm square timber. Then screw them firmly into each corner of the bottom plate, each with two wide angles. Use the 5.0 x 7 mm screws for this purpose.

Wall and roof

Nails range

Before nailing, you need to give the frame some structure: For this purpose, at the front and back of the tree house (this should be defined by now at the latest) screwed at the top of the post, a 100 cm long 6 x 6-cm squared timber which supports the frame front and rear.

Now nailed: nail on each side at least 8 nails per board, four on each side, on the two long sides in each case six of the 120 x 20-cm-long boards. Six of the 100 x 20 cm boards are nailed to the back of the tree house; also with 4 nails per side.

Then nail down the remaining five 120 x 20 cm long boards on the roof construction. To permanently seal the roof, Now nail the roofing felt with the cardboard nails with about 10 cm supernatant to all sides around the walls; At the front you simply pull the roofing felt inwards.

The shell is ready, it may be celebrated topping.

Install the tree house door

door hinge

While you can already sit in the shell, we turn to the door: It should be 60 cm wide and 100 cm high.

As a stop for the door, you should first cut 6 cm x 6 cm square timber 12 cm from the last remaining meter. Now place the square timber with two angles exactly 100 cm, measured at the lower edge, on the door side of the tree house.

Now you can dress the door wall: Nail two 100 x 20 cm boards to the left and right of the designated door panel at the top and bottom; then over the door, the two other, equal sized boards.

Now the door can be built and assembled. First screw a rectangular door together using the 25 mm screws from the three 99.5 cm long boards and the two 59.5 cm boards: Place the three long boards on the floor and screw them up and down each 5 cm to the top of the two cross pieces - the door is ready.

Then screw the two long hinges on the left-hand side of the door, each 10 cm away from the upper and lower edge of the door using the 12 mm screws. then screw the door to the hinges. The door should open and close easily.

Finally, screw on the push bar and the bolt holder on the right side: Now the tree house is burglar-proof with a padlock.

Install the tree house window

Miter Saw

For the installation of the tree house window, it may also be two or three windows, look for yourself depending on your personal taste 30 x 30 cm Measure the measuring point of the tree house wall and saw with the jigsaw a clean and especially straight square from the wall.

Now use the miter saw with an angle of 45° to cut four 30 cm long pieces on the roof batten; screw them into a square using the four small angle connectors and the 12 mm screws. Then place the 30 x 30 cm large amateur glass disc and screw it to the window frame - the window sash is finished.

As with the door frame, screw the two smaller hinges on the left or right; on the other side the window latch is mounted. Done is the tree house window.

Wood preservative

In order to protect the tree house from the weather, you should weatherproof all exposed wooden parts with wood preservation glaze. Generously apply the glaze to walls and underbody; a second coat of paint does no harm.

Treehouse facility

Now that the treehouse is completed, you can go to the interior. How about, for example, a cozy carpet that softens the floor? Even a lamp on the ceiling, maybe even with solar cells on the roof, brings light into the tree house.

For a small bench or a chair with a small table is also space - and of course for toys, bow and much more. Let your imagination and especially your child's imagination run wild.
