Lay vinyl flooring in the click system: a guide


A vinyl floor with click system is quite easy to lay yourself and has other advantages: It is waterproof and therefore suitable for kitchen and bathroom - the look is very similar to a real wood floor. How does the installation work?

Laying a vinyl floor with a click system is particularly clean, because the craftsman needs no glue and no glue. The pliable floorboards compensate for slight unevenness in the floor, so that the pretreatment of the area is not so much work.

1. Acclimatize the vinyl floor

Acclimate the packages containing vinyl flooring to at least 48 in the room where you want to lay them. Ensure a normal living temperature.

2. Pay attention when laying vinyl flooring in the click system!

Lay your vinyl floor lengthwise from the left to the right. Plan an expansion gap of at least 3 mm to the wall! Ensure a firm, dry and stable surface.

3. Lay first row

Cut off the longitudinal springs of the first row of boards and lay the spring side to the wall. Place spacer wedges for the expansion joint. Click the narrow sides of the planks together.

4. The next series vinyl floor with click system

Start the next row with the remainder of the first row if this piece is longer than 30 cm. Click in groove and tongue firmly by using blow block and hammer.

5. Lay the last row

Measure the wall distance for the last row and remove a few millimeters for the expansion joint. Cut the planks with the cutter. Use a pull iron to click on the last row of planks.

Do not lay your vinyl floor in rooms with stagnant moisture or outdoors: Although it is quite waterproof, it can be destroyed by constant exposure to sunlight and water.

👉 Without an expansion gap 'buckling' is a common problem. The expanding laminate floor has no gap to allow for movement. This will cause laminate floorboards to be forced up, often causing a bounce. In extreme cases, it can damage the click system.
