Windows for a single-family home - these costs are incurred

If you would like to build a single-family home largely on your own, you can still save on material costs such as the prices for the windows. A price comparison helps but only if you know the approximate costs already.

Plastic, aluminum or wood - not just a matter of price

Which windows should be installed, depends not only on the price. The client should take a good look at the advantages and disadvantages of the different materials. If windows are not easily accessible later, wooden windows should be avoided, as they require a lot of care.

Especially classy and robust are aluminum windows. But their prices are also considerably higher. This is not worth it for most home builders. Therefore, plastic windows are currently still the most popular windows and are also used in our cost example below.

Cheap windows

Especially in the hardware stores and on the Internet, there are already very low-cost windows today. We have chosen the lower price range as an example. Even the glazing is just a normal double glazing.

If you would like to install the more expensive aluminum windows, you should also plan an insulating glazing right away. As a result, the windows are longer on an up-to-date and need not be replaced as quickly as conventional cheap windows.
