Delete youth rooms - good ideas for great designs

When the nursery becomes a youth room, the design also changes. Which possibilities and ideas there are for very different interesting wall designs, betrays this guide.

Wall design options

  • Walls in different colors
  • two-tone walls
  • decorative stripes and color patterns
  • Wall decorations and ornaments

Walls in different colors

Young people often want a room in bright colors. In order to avoid optical overload, it can be a good way to just paint one wall in a colorful color. The other walls can then be designed in muted, contrasting colors.

In particular, the learning area should be more in muted colors to allow for more focused work and learning.

Bicolor walls

Visually very balanced walls with colored painted pedestals. With tape, the dividing line between the different colors can be made clean. Always remove the tape while the paint is still wet.

Alternatively, more impressive patterns can be designed, such as a wall diagonally divided by two colors.

Decorative stripes and color patterns

A brightly colored strip in the middle of the wall can be a good way to visually revive a room. It is made like the colored wall base using two strips of adhesive tape.

Wall decorations and ornaments

Wall tattoos have the advantage that they can be removed again. But it can also be interesting to have a design with painting templates or stencil patterns.

Own or foreign drawings can be well transferred on a larger scale on the so-called grid technique on a wall and then run with plaque colors.

In this case, the template is transferred to checkered paper or covered with a transparent film with the smallest possible grid imprint. On the wall is also drawn with thin pencil lines a grid in appropriate magnification. The contents of each box can then be easily copied.

The pencil grid can then easily be made invisible again with a fine brush and the original wall color. Thin pencil strokes can then be easily erased.

Tips & Tricks

If you want to paint darker colors with brighter ones during a refactoring, apply several layers of dispersion to the wall. Painting over with white, highly opaque dispersion before applying the actual desired color is also a possibility.
